This guide explains how to use storage to automate item management in Dungeon Settlers, as well as how to move items between characters and storage containers.
How to Use Storage – Automating Item Production
If you build a storage box from the Storage tab in Build Mode, characters will automatically pick up items left on the floor and place them into the appropriate storage box.
Items stored in storage boxes are also automatically taken out and used whenever they are needed for construction or item production.
As explained below, you can also move items directly between a character and a storage box, or from one storage box to another.
How to Move Items Between Characters and Storage
Open a character’s inventory or a storage box, select an item, then drag and drop it onto the target to transfer it.
As shown in the video, you can drag items directly onto a character or storage box on the map. You can also transfer items by dragging and dropping them onto a character portrait in the upper-right corner of the screen.
Shift + Drag
Hold Shift while dragging an item to choose exactly how many you want to move.
Ctrl + Drag
Hold Ctrl while dragging an item to split the selected item stack in half.
