!! MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD — READ AT YOUR OWN RISK !!

This article covers the route I personally chose and the outcomes I was able to confirm. Branches resulting from other choices are still being tested.

Lost Blood Overview

Brencis’s soldiers had been attacked, and there were signs that barrels used to store blood had also been destroyed.

As Coen begins investigating, he encounters a Murohn.

What kind of person was it before its transformation?

How to Start and Where to Find It

The quest begins automatically when you approach the cart just north of the Pilgrim’s Trail Shrine in St. Tyna’s Grove.

Deadline and Time Cost

There is no deadline.

Defeating the Murohn responsible costs 2 Time Segments.

The first conversation with the merchant costs 1 Time Segment.

Lost Blood Walkthrough

  1. Investigate the cart using Focus Mode.
  2. Follow the blood trail.
  3. Defeat the Murohn.
  4. Search the Murohn’s corpse and obtain the Mysterious Ring.
  5. Examine the nearby letter.
  6. Go to the Silberstein General Trader in Svartrau, the general goods shop in the Silberstein district.
  7. Use Focus Mode to find the tapestry hanging on the wall and interact with it.
  8. Have the first conversation with the merchant.
  9. Choose “I found a ring with your family’s emblem.” This costs 1 Time Segment.
  10. I chose “I’m truly sorry.”
  11. Let one day pass.
  12. Return to the Silberstein General Trader.
  13. Have the second conversation with the merchant.
  14. I chose “I still have it.”
  15. Complete the quest.

Conversations with the Merchant

First Conversation

When the merchant blames Coen for killing his son, two dialogue options appear:

  1. “He wasn’t human anymore!”
  2. “I’m truly sorry.”

If you choose “I’m truly sorry,” the merchant apologizes the following day for yelling at Coen and thanks him for putting an end to what happened to his son.

Second Conversation

The merchant asks whether you still have the ring, and two dialogue options appear:

  1. “I still have it.”
  2. “I don’t have it anymore. Sorry.”

When I chose “I still have it,” the conversation suggested that the merchant would buy the ring back from me.

However, in terms of actual gameplay behavior, the ring did not disappear from my inventory, nor did my money appear to increase.

Lore — What Was the Ring?

The ring obtained during this quest was a birthday gift from the merchant to his son.

Untested Outcomes

  • What happens if you do not apologize during the first conversation with the merchant?
  • Exactly how many Time Segments need to pass between the first and second conversations?
  • What happens if you no longer have the ring during the second conversation, or if you lie and say you do not have it?
