Overview

Vale Sangora is a fictional valley and region located deep in the Carpathian Mountains, a real mountain range in Eastern Europe. The game is set in 1347, in an alternate version of 14th-century Europe where vampires have emerged from the shadows as human society is weakened by war and the Black Death. Its capital is Svartrau.

A single open world encompasses old-growth forests, plains, swamps, mountains, caves, settlements, and the ruins of an ancient civilization. The developers have explained that they created Vale Sangora by combining landscapes and cultures from across Central and Eastern Europe.
