Here’s a quick guide on how to defeat Yoichi, the boss who stands in your way during the Archer Trial in Dungeon Antiqua 2.

Yoichi’s Main Threats

Yoichi has two particularly dangerous attacks:

  1. Sleep, which can put your entire party to sleep and completely collapse your formation.
  2. A high-damage single-target attack that also inflicts Poison.

How to Counter Yoichi

How to Deal with Sleep

The most effective counter is to have your Priest cast Silence on Yoichi.

If Silence lands, Yoichi will be unable to cast Sleep in the first place, making the fight considerably safer.

In Dungeon Antiqua 2, simply leveling up is not enough to learn spells. You first need to purchase the appropriate spell category from the Spell Shop.

Since Silence belongs to Spell P2, make sure to purchase it in town beforehand.

*Important: Characters do NOT learn spells just by leveling up.*

If the character has already changed classes from Priest to something else, they can still use Silence as long as you purchase Spellbook P2 and equip Spell P2 in one of their skill slots.

And even if someone does get put to sleep, you can wake them up with Cure, which also belongs to Spell P2, or by using a Remedy.

How to Deal with Yoichi’s High-Damage Attack and Poison

Protection is extremely effective for mitigating Yoichi’s hard-hitting single-target attack.

This is yet another Spell P2 spell, and casting it on your party members gives them a defensive buff that significantly reduces the damage they take.

As explained in the tutorial, Protection can be stacked up to twice, and the buff lasts for the entire battle.

Whenever you get a free turn, start spreading Protection around the party.

Monks are already extremely durable and can usually survive on their natural defenses alone, so prioritizing your other party members is generally the better choice.

Poison can also be removed with Cure or Remedy, just like Sleep.

Having Two or More Spell P2 Users Makes the Fight Much More Consistent

As you can probably tell by now, most of the spells that are particularly useful against Yoichi are concentrated in Spell P2.

Because of that, having at least two characters capable of using Spell P2 makes the battle much more stable.

For example, you could:

  • Train a character as a Priest to learn Spell P2, then change them into a Monk to gain additional damage output.
  • Train a Mage to learn Armor Break, then change them into a Priest.

Using class changes like this allows you to gain a huge advantage against Yoichi with relatively little preparation and almost no meaningful loss in combat effectiveness.

Another Extremely Useful Debuff: Armor Break

Armor Break, found in Spell M2 and usable by Mages, lowers the Defense of a single enemy.

Better yet, the effect lasts for the entire battle.

If you can land Armor Break right at the start of the fight, dealing damage to Yoichi becomes considerably easier.
