This article compiles the information currently available about The Blood of Dawnwalker ahead of its release.
Official announcements are treated as the primary sources, followed by information reported in hands-on previews as secondary sources.
After release, I will play the game and revise, update, and expand this article as necessary.
You Have 30 Days to Save Coen’s Family
One of the game’s main objectives is to save Coen’s beloved family within 30 days.
Once the prologue ends, a countdown spanning 30 days and 30 nights begins.
Failing to accomplish this objective within the time limit does not result in an immediate game over. Instead, the failure will have consequences, and the game will continue.
Taken together, the official statements suggest that the game is not designed to let you complete absolutely everything in a single playthrough. However, it appears to have been balanced so that you can experience most of its content in one run.

How Time Advances
Time has been confirmed to advance under the following conditions:
- Starting certain quests
- Advancing certain quests
- Completing certain quests
- Completing certain objectives
- Selecting certain dialogue choices
- Learning certain skills
Conversely, official announcements have repeatedly explained that time does not advance in the following situations:
- Leaving the game running without taking any action
- Exploring the open world
The fact that open-world exploration does not advance time has been emphasized on multiple occasions. This reflects a consistent design philosophy: the time limit is not intended to interfere with the player’s freedom to explore the open world.
Time as a Gameplay Resource
An hourglass icon appears before actions that consume time, allowing you to check in advance how far the clock will move forward.
Creative Director Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz describes the system as follows:
Time works more like a currency than a countdown.

Considering that learning certain skills also advances time, it seems reasonable to view time as a gameplay resource designed to create meaningful trade-offs.
Official Answers to Common Questions
Does This Mean You Can’t Take Your Time Exploring Dungeons?
No.
Time advances in response to specific triggers, such as starting or progressing certain quests. It is not tied to the passage of real-world time.
One official explanation illustrates this by saying that even if you spend hours watching a burning house, it will simply continue burning.

Is It Game Over After 30 Days?
No.
Failing to achieve the objective of saving Coen’s family will have consequences, but the game itself will continue beyond the 30-day limit.
