Hey there!

As someone who absolutely loves solo tabletop RPGs, I have been developing Throw the Dice into the Dungeon as a video game inspired by the solo RPG experience.

I had been thinking that I wanted to bring the game’s core mechanics a little closer to an actual solo RPG when I discovered something rather exciting:

Ironsworn is licensed under CC BY 4.0—and that includes some of the rules from Delve and Starforged as well!

Well, if that is the case, there is only one thing to do!

I might as well lean fully into the Ironsworn influence, spread the good word about the game while I am at it, and build something proudly inspired by its mechanics!

And so, I spent the next several hours adjusting stats, systems, and all sorts of other things.

At this point, I think I have managed to create a basic framework that reproduces the original system while still leaving room for adaptation and modification.

The reason there are no direct equivalents to the original game’s Heart and Shadow stats is that both of them are closely connected to a character’s personality, inner life, and roleplaying.

I want this game to focus on leading a party into dangerous dungeons.

If I placed too much emphasis on the inner thoughts and emotions of one particular character, the focus of the game would gradually shift away from dungeon exploration and toward following that character’s personal story.

The dungeon itself is supposed to be the star of the show, so that was one priority I was not willing to compromise on.

Starting tomorrow, I will begin reorganizing the game’s plugins and adapting Ironsworn into a 2d6, PbtA-style system that can be implemented within RPG Maker.

That is all for today!

Enjoy your gaming life and thank you very much for reading all the way to the end!!!
