This article covers the route I personally chose and the outcomes I was able to confirm. Branches resulting from other choices are still being tested.

Ambrus’s Dungeons: Twists and Turns Overview

After discovering one of Ambrus’s prisoner facilities, Coen launches an assault to free the captives held inside.

How to Start & Location

Approaching any of Ambrus’s prisoner facilities automatically starts the parent quest, Ambrus’s Dungeons.

Afterward, approaching the prisoner facility in ??? automatically starts this quest.

(I did not make a note of the exact location name during my first playthrough. This is one of the points I plan to investigate further on my second playthrough.)

Time Cost & Deadline

Talking to the prisoners costs 3 Time Segments.

Rewards

  • 250 XP
  • 1 Skill Point
  • A check mark under “Dungeons” in Ambrus’s Court menu
  • Increased Infamy

Ambrus’s Dungeons: Twists and Turns Walkthrough

  1. Fight your way through Brencis’s soldiers.
  2. Loot the Jailer’s Keys from one of the bodies.
  3. Talk to the prisoners.
  4. (In my playthrough) choose “There. You’re free now.”
  5. (In my playthrough) choose “Do what you can to oppose Brencis.”
  6. Complete the quest.

Dialogue with the Prisoners

First Choice

The prisoners are former soldiers of Brencis who were imprisoned for disobeying their superiors.

Free them → “There. You’re free now.”

Leave them imprisoned → “I won’t show mercy to Brencis’s soldiers. Rot in here.”

Either choice causes 3 Time Segments to pass.

Choices After Freeing Them

The prisoners ask if there is anything they can do in return, saying they would like to get back at Brencis in some way.

There are two choices here:

“Do what you can to oppose Brencis.”

“You owe me nothing.”

Untested Points

There are currently three points that remain untested:

  1. The exact location name associated with this activity
  2. Whether the rewards change if you free the prisoners and ask for nothing in return
  3. Whether the rewards change if you leave the prisoners imprisoned
