!! FULL SPOILERS AHEAD — READ AT YOUR OWN RISK !!

This guide covers the route I actually took and the outcomes I was able to verify.

Overview

Coen searches for a way to reach the library at St. Tyna’s Monastery together with Anca.

While investigating the infirmary, he encounters a group of Brencis’s soldiers barricaded inside, who offer him a deal.

Unlock Conditions and Starting Location

During Echoes of Silenced Bells, investigate the infirmary window while exploring the courtyard and agree to the deal offered by Brencis’s soldiers.

Time Cost and Deadline

(Mandatory) The final conversation with the soldiers costs 3 Time Segment.

(Optional) Using Compel Soul on the dead nun in the chapel costs 1 Time Segment.

Rewards

150 XP

If you choose not to hand over the amulet during the final choice, you can also keep The Relic of St. Tyna, and your Infamy increases.

If you use Compel Soul on the dead nun in the chapel, its use count increases by 1.

Most Precious Thing Walkthrough

  1. (Optional) Obtain the Prayerbook and Rosary in the chapel.
  2. (Optional) Use Compel Soul on the dead nun. This costs 1 Time Segment.
  3. Continue exploring the courtyard and obtain the keys.
  4. Go to the Sacristy.
  5. Investigate the nun’s body and obtain the relic.
  6. Return to Brencis’s soldiers in the infirmary and speak with them.
  7. Choose whether to hand the relic over to Brencis’s soldiers or keep it for yourself.
  8. If you refuse to hand over the relic, you will have to fight Brencis’s soldiers.
  9. Complete the quest.

What Happens if You Investigate St. Tyna’s Remains in the Chapel?

Doing so costs 1 Time Segment and provides additional lore information as well as clues about where to search.

It does not appear to be required for any progression flag, and the quest can be completed whether you investigate the remains or not.

Where Is the Sacristy?

It is located at the far end of the courtyard, almost diagonally opposite the point where Coen and Anca first look down over the courtyard.

Which Final Choice Should You Make?

If you choose to hand over the relic, you can avoid the fight, but you lose the relic.

If you choose to keep the relic for yourself, a fight begins, but you can keep the Epic amulet The Relic of St. Tyna even after completing the quest.

To be honest, Brencis’s soldiers here are not particularly strong, while The Relic of St. Tyna is useful for both Witchcraft builds and more general-purpose setups.

From a purely gameplay perspective, keeping the relic is therefore the more rewarding option.

(You still get the XP, too.)
